    We start with the project itself — its desire, questions, values, history, personality, and possibilities — and spend time discovering what it wants to become.

    Conversation, research, creative exercises, imagination, experimentation, and design are all part of the process.

    The final form might be an identity, website, publication, object, creative direction, or something we couldn't have named at the beginning.

  • For projects that continue to evolve, I also work through an ongoing creative relationship.

    We might begin with one project and continue into another — a website, publication, packaging, art direction, a new body of work, or something else that emerges along the way.

    The relationship can evolve with the work.

How I work


I don't think design is only about making something look good or function well.

Every project has a character.

It comes from somewhere. It has its own questions, personality, purpose, desires, values, and ways of moving through the world.

I like to spend time getting close to that.

Sometimes this means questionnaires and conversations. Sometimes research, collecting images, making things, following a connection that doesn't make sense yet, or simply paying attention to what keeps appearing.

My artistic and Psychosomagic practice also shapes the way I work. Imagination, embodiment, symbolism, intuition, and ritual can become part of the process when they are useful to the project.

There is a structure, but it is not a formula.

The work is about developing a meaningful relationship with what you are making and giving it a form that feels alive, wonderful, and functional.
